Journey to the gym

It's Saturday mid-morn and I'm making the trek to the gym when what do I see?

A mass of people over a block long holding signs in the middle of the street w/ police cars parked near.

What are they protesting? I think to myself.

As I get closer I notice kids...in uniforms...and their signs aren't of protest, they are announcing their team names! LOL! It's a parade of all the area t-ball, softball and little league players - w/ their coffee toting parents!

I continue on and nearly run into Darth Maul!

Well, at least it was a guy dressed up as Darth Maul and a friend dressed up as a character I didn't immediately recognize - am assuming they're headed to the NYC Comic Con?

When I do make it to the gym I have a gentleman more than double my age approach me as I'm using a machine and start telling me how I need to push myself to my limit on the machine to get the most out of the workout. Simple exercises - he mimed tossing something from one hand to another - are therapy. He then said he wasn't a trainer. (In my defense - I was using the machine to warm up, which I told him but I think he was determined to get his message across because that didn't sway him.) And then he went back to his workout but kept his eye on me. I moved to a machine out of eyesight and put on my headphones.

What an odd morning.
